This page will educate you on everything you need to know about installing operating systems onto your computer.
First you need to know what an operating system is. An operating system is what your computer runs on. Some examples are Windows 10 and Mac OS 10.14 Mojave. All computers have RAM. RAM stands for Random Access Memory and basically means how much things your computer can do at once. RAM is measured in gigabytes and megabytes. 1000 megabytes of RAM=1 gigabyte of RAM. Most modern computers have about 4GB (GB=gigabytes ) of RAM. My computer has 504MB (MB=megabytes) of RAM which no one has anymore, mainly because it was created in 1999. That is why I created this website; to make use of old computers and change new ones. let's talk about booting. Booting off of something is using a USB stick or CD/DVD, inserting either one into their correct places, and using that to upgrade your computer. You also have get to your BIOS or boot menu (and I will call it a boot menu from now on) on your computer to boot off of the USB stick or CD/DVD which is accessible by pressing the key F10, F11, F12, or Esc right when your computer starts up. If you don't know which key to press, press all of them at the same time. Now let's talk about live CDs. live CDs are discs are like normal CDs that have operating systems on them, but you cannot install them permanently onto your computer. Live CDs are used for trying out the software. Finally, I will talk about mounting a virtual drive. mounting a virtual drive is used for trying out the software (and it it similar to a live CD) but you can use your current operating system as well. I will explain further steps below. Now that you are fully educated, I will give you the steps to create your USB stick, CD/DVD (and live cd) or mounting a virtual drive.
